      These are fab! ;-p

As much as I have a chocolate 'addiction' (I blame the parental genes passed down!) I am 'encouraged' to eat healthier snack too - more savoury than sweet so I don't lose all my teeth before I'm twenty! I do love chicken so these 'Fridge Raiders' little bags of Chinese Spare Rib Flavour are perfect for my many snack attacks! Packaged in a little bag of ready to eat pieces, you get about 16 bites at about 1 inch wide by two inches long and they are yummy :) Made by Kerry Foods Ltd, each 65g bag contains 116 calories with a fat content of 5.9g...so I hate to admit it but these are better for me than chocolate then. There is 13.3g of protein per pack too and they are advertised as being made with 100% chicken breast although if you read the small print it does say the pieces are made from chopped and shaped chicken breast rather than whole segments. The chicken equals 91% of the finished product and is cooked in palm & rice bran oils then seasoned with amongst other things onion & garlic powders so give them their tasty flavour... They could have been in contact with nuts in the factory they are produced in and also contain wheat and gluten for people with allergies to know. These Fridge Raiders packs need to be kept in the fridge and used within two days of opening, not that they last that long with me once I've ripped open the wrapper ;) As for the taste, well they are very meaty as would be expected and quite chewy and firm on texture. The Chinese spare rib flavour comes out really nicely against the powdery seasoning that is dark golden colour compared to the lighter poultry. The bites feel quite moist and also taste succulent in my opinion too, and I feel satisfied after a bag of these. The smell is really sweet from the seasoning and the spices have a really tasty fragrance that goes really well with the chicken chucks :) Price wise they are on offer at the moment on Morrisons at half price (49p) instead of the usual 99p. Good for snacking, good for picnics, good for packed lunches, five stars from me!
