Advantages: Handy quick snack
Disadvantages: Not appealing to look at
I'd seen these Mattessons fridge raiders bites before but never really been tempted to try them, So when I noticed them on offer in co-op at 52p I grabbed a pack to try.
They come in a foil packet and they are ready to eat. I choose the roast chicken flavour, The other flavours available are Southern fried chicken, Chinese spare rib, barbecue and tikka, None of which I really fancied to try.
On taking one out of the packet I was left holding what seemed to resemble a cold pale looking cocktail sausage left over from a party. The look put me off but I was brave and ate it. Well the taste was better then the look as it had a strong taste of the roast chicken so a thumbs up there.
They are made from 100% chicken breast meat so no worries about what other ingredients are mixed in with it like some nuggets have.
There were between 10 - 14 pieces in a 65g pack which would fill a small hole if you were peckish. Ideal for eating something very quick or a lunchbox filler maybe. Not something I'd personally want to leave in my fridge to be raided when fancied something to nibble on...
Each pack is worth 125 calories.
These are availabe to buy in all major supermarkets and some smaller stores like the Co op where I purchased them on offer price.
Summary: Quick easy to eat. I wont be buying again though.
