Advantages: Individual packets, great to keep in hand bag
Disadvantages: Expensive when they are not on offer
I first tried these Mcvitie's Go Ahead Yogurt Breaks when they were on offer in Asda 2 for £2. They are usually about £2.25 a box so when they are on offer it is a bargain! However yesterday, whilst shopping in my local b & m store i spotted them in there for £1 a box!
Go Ahead yogurt breaks are just like a garibaldy. They are a light crispy biscuit, which has a thin layer of yogurt topping. Inside the yogurt break is a sultana and raspberry flavoured filling.
These Go Ahead Yogurt Break Bars come in a box of 6 packs, and there are 2 yogurt breaks in each pack. The box is a bright green colour, a little different from the one shown in the picture. But it says exactly the same information on it.
The bars themselves come in handy packets which are so easy to just throw into your bag or keep in your desk drawer at work for a snack. I bought these for my boyfriend, as he always seems to snack on chocolate in the morning after breakfast and as he is on a diet, we were on the look out for something a bit healthier he could snack on.
To us these looked a healthier option, but when you look at the calorie content of each slice, which is 72 calories, they are not much better for him than having a biscuit or a packet of crisps! As there are two slices in each pack, and they are not very filling so you have got to eat both, that means your are consuming 144 calories!
These yogurt bars are delicious though! The fruit fillings are very sweet and the biscuit is nice and light and leaves no mess or crumbs like other biscuits do. They come in a variety of flavours including raspberry, tropical, strawberry, blueberry and forest fruits. They are available at all supermarkets, and also b & m!
The Go Ahead yogurt breaks claim to have no artificial colours of flavours.
You should store these in a cool dry place, and they are also suitable for vegetarians!
The box shows the companys interest in these being part of a healthier lifestyle, and its advertises a website - www.123healthybalance.com -
which they tell you to visit to find out how to live a more healthy balanced lifestyle with exercise and a balanced diet.
Mcvitie's also offers a helpline to call incase you are not happy with this product. It also gives an address to post the product back to if you arent happy! This just shows how confident they are in their product to do this! But also shows the customer they are reliable and trustworthy!
Overall, i would recommend anyone to try these, they are cheap when on offer, and absolutely delicious!
Summary: Delicious snack!
