Mc Vities Jaffa Cakes
Advantages: Great taste, hard to stop at 1!
What to write about Jaffa Cakes?!
The basic thing to say would be that I find them delicious!
I've recently bought the mcvities packet of mini jaffa cakes. They are different from the packaging above and come in a pouch with a resealable sticker to close. I hadn't had jaffa cakes in a few months and thought I would treat myself to them as they were on offer at Tesco - 2 packs for £2.
The jaffa cake contains 3 layers. At the top is a thin layer of chocolate, beneath that is a lovely tangy orangy centre and then the bottom layer is of a light sponge cake. Overall the combination makes it really nice to eat and a great snack.
However I found buying the bigger box as pictured above was probably a better idea, you have to be careful with the mini ones not to eat too many as it is easily done and so tempting. :P But the mini jaffa cakes are great to share.
The packaging states that each cake contains 0.6g of fat and each 25g serving is 97 calories. It also states that it contains no hydrogenated vegetable oil and is suitable for vegetarians. The packet has a best before date up until december so has quite a long date - however I really don't see it being sat there for long once opened. The packaging consists of blue and orange colours with images of the jaffa cakes all around it - making it hard to resist!.
I've tried different branded jaffa cakes apart from mcvities but found that they dont taste of the same quality of mcvities and so I would choose these over others.
These jaffa cakes are a great snack but far too easy to eat more than you should of them and not something you would want to eat daily as they are quite sweet. Also each pack is part of McVities VIP club where each pack gives you certain points and contains a code. If you then register to McVities VIP Club via their website and enter the packs code, you can build up your points from these and other McVities products to exchange for items - which isn't bad if you are going to purchase their brand anyway!.
Overall i'd treat myself to these jaffa cakes now and again, whether the mini version or the box version and would choose these over other branded ones.
Summary: They're yummy
