Advantages: Tasty, tasty, tasty

Disadvantages: None

As you well know McCoys crisps are real jaw breakers!

They are great big hunky chunky potato snacks. They are big, thick and ridged and come in a variety of flavours. Whatever flavour you buy, you are guaranteed a treat and the McCoy's Roast Ham and Mustard Crisps are no exception to this rule.

Now let us talk about the flavour: when you first put one of these in your mouth, you are going to feel the sear of the mustard. That is right; feel it rather than taste it. Once that hot feeling settles down you then get a flavour coming, an actual taste of mustard and eventually the ham flavour peeps its head through.

With each crisp that you eat, this same cycle occurs each time: the heat, the mustard taste, then the mild ham flavour. I would risk saying that perhaps the ham flavour isn't as mild as you think, it is just that the mustard is so strong that it masks any ham flavour till the last minute.

These do feel fatty and greasy, and after two packs you can feel a little full. Let me mention at this point that I adore crisps and one packet is not enough for me. When I fancy a bag of crisps, it usually means I eat two bags.

Where I do only eat one bag it is generally when I have a crisp sandwich. McCoy's Roast Ham and Mustard Crisps are absolutely delicious between two slices of any type of bread, with some lettuce and some salad cream. I do find McCoys a bit tough in the mouth, and what I tend to do, in this instance, is crumble them up into crumbs and sprinkle into the salad cream.

This is really is a tasty treat, and makes what would otherwise seem like just another boring bag of crisps, or just another boring lettuce sandwich into something a bit special.

Summary: One of the tastier flavours in the McCoys range.
