McCoys crisps are a tasty snack when you want something tokeep you going until your next meal.

They are bigger and thicker than other crisps and have a nice ridged texture that keeps more flavour in the crisps. They come in bigger bags as well and the bags always seem fuller to me than Walkers crisps.

You can buy them individual or in multipacks of 6. The most popular flavours that you will see in the shops are Salt and Malt Vinegar, Salted, Flame Grilled Steak or Cheddar and Onion. MY favourites are the Salt and Vinegar ones because they are very salty and I like the fact that a strong vinegar has been used that burns my tongue a little bit and makes me able to taste it for a long time after I have eaten my crisps.

I like the texture of McCoys because they are thick and I can get a proper bite of the crisps without the crisp crumbling in my mouth. I feel like I am chewing something instead of having the first quick bite of crisp and then it is gone. The Salt and Vinegar ones are nice on a sandwich of bread and butter and the Steak ones are good to dip into hummous.

They are very high in calories and fat because they are so big. I think the ridges don't help with the fat because when you run your tongue down the crisp I can definatly taste a greasier taste here than on the surface of the crisp. The ridges do hold the flavouring though so the flavour of the crisp is all the way through instead of disappearing as soon as the crisp has been in my mouth for a second or two.

Cheddar and Onion. These ones taste very artificial and I am not too keen on them, They taste more of cheese powder than proper cheese. The onion is not very strong.

Salted. The salted McCoys taste a little bit crunchier to me than the other flavours and they have a nice salty taste but sometimes taste a little bit burned.

Salt and Malt Vinegar. These ones taste like good quality salt and vinegar crisps. There is a lot of salt and vinegar on them but McCoys have got the balance between them right.

Grilled Steak. These are very meaty tasting and taste of proper beef instead of just meat flavouring. The crisps are strongly flavoured and the smell of these makes my mouth water as soon as the bag is open.

There are sometimes other flavours available and my daughter says they have just brought a new posh range of McCoys out.
