I love Thai food and I love roast chicken flavoured crisps so I expected to absolutely love the McCoys Sweet Thai Chicken crisps but they were just ok. I really liked the big crunch of these ridge cut crisps because they seem to fill me up a lot more than the thin ones but they are still nice and crispy. I was also impressed by the amount of flavour but it just isn't the one I was expecting exactly.
I love Thai food because of all of the flavours you get in each yummy mouthful but the crisps are not so exciting which is ok because these are crisps not a takeaway. You can definitely taste the chicken which is tasty but the rest of the taste is not really Thai to me. It could be any spicy kind of chicken recipe with garlic and chilli powder. It still has loads of flavour and tastes really nice though. There is definitely a bit of mouth tingly heat by the time you have munched your way through a bag but it is not the kind of spice that blows your head off.
These are nice crisps and I am sure if you like chicken you would like these if you like your crisps crunchy and spicy. The chilli is more hot than sweet but not too much. Probably not one for little kids though. I would recommend them to a friend who wants a change from good old roast chicken. I got mine in a mixed bag from Poundland with other spicy flavours so they worked out at less than 20p each for 6 bags which is great value and definitely the place to look for these.
