      Advantages

      Disadvantages

The best ones in the range

I've been buying these for a good few years now, usually I get them from Home Bargains as they're cheaper in there, they are however only about £1.30 full price anyway, Tesco have them on offer at the moment for a pound.

Made by Mcvities you get 5 individually wrapped cakes which is ideal for the butty boxes. The pack is dark blue with 'Milky Way' written on the front, you can't miss them, their wrappers are the same too. I'd say they were about 3 inches long and maybe a bit less than an inch high. They have no hydrogenated vegetable oil, no preservatives, no artificial colours or flavours are suitable for vegetarians and does not contain dairy cream. They do contain gluten, eggs, milk, soya\soybeans and maybe nuts and peanuts. I won't list the ingredients as there are many.

These are a delicious layer of white cake topped with- I'd say- a stiff fondanty butter cream covered all over in smooth milk chocolate. Don't be fooled by the picture though they have shrunk somewhat and that cake isn't as thick as it looks. They have a slight vanilla/ fudge flavour to them and the chocolate is smooth and creamy tasting- not unlike milkyway chocolate, but they don't really taste like a milkyway....

Having only 120 calories per cake bar makes them a light snack, they aren't filling though but just satisfy a chocolate craving.

I like these bars and will continue to buy them, even though they've shrank. They are the nicest ones in the range in my opinion.

      5 stars from me

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Good bars

        **Introduction**

I have recently been trying to lose some weight to get fit for when I start my Level 2 Coaching course in Football. I decided to cut down the calories whilst still having the occassional treat and chose to purchase the smaller cake bars which are widely available in supermarkets and shops. There are a number of these cake bars. Some of them are from various chocolate bars which contain more calories than the likes of Milky way bars. I have just come back from The Spar and they are currently on offer for £1 as well as some other similar cake bars. If not on offer they are about £1.30 which is still reasonable for a pack of 5 of these cake bars.

        **The Bars**

I really like these bars as they are tasty and fairly low in fat at 6g, They contain 120 calories which is fairly decent for a snack when you get home from work or as a treat with your lunch or possibly for pudding. They contain the lovely milk chocolate which make up the covering for the light sponge which contains a nice creamy filling. If you found these unwrapped at a Party or something then you would be able to guess which they were from the first bite as they have that lovely light taste of Milky Way but with a sponge cake feel. They contain have the calories of a normal chocolate bar and comfortably less calories which is a good thing.

        **Overall**

These Milky Way cake bars are excellent to use as a treat or a substitute to chocolate bars if you are trying to lose weight or live a healthier lifestyle. They have an excellent taste and also cost not too much which is another plus point. If you like the normal Milky Way bars then why not try these as they are a very tasty product which is ideal for lunchboxes, snacks or puddings. I have bought them a few times and I will certainly buy them again as they have a nice taste and are healthier than the standard chocolate bars you will find in stores. You can still have a chocolate treat now and then without worrying about the calories.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Treat yourself, it's worth it.

Milky Way cake bars are a small slice of heaven. Milky Way has always been billed as the chocolate bar that won't ruin your appetite and I guess these cakes are the same because they are incredibly light. However, there their resemblance to Milky Ways stops. This does not, in my opinion, make them any less enjoyable.

The packet of cake bars is the traditional Milky Way blue and holds a picture of a cake bar which has been cut into so you sort of know what you are getting yourself into before you buy them. Inside the wrapper are five individually wrapped bars in a tray of cardboard. Each bar is about 8cm long.

The bar consists of ordinary white sponge with a layer of thick and really quick solid white milky way flavoured cream on top. This is all then covered in smoothy and tasty milk chocolate. Th packet says Mars milk chocolate and it reminds me of Galaxy chocolate, as its the same company it might well be Galaxy chocolate. Either way it's very yummy. The cream on the inside is not at all sickly and the sponge is incredibly light.

All in all, it's enough to make you feel like you've had a lovely treat but not so much that you feel the need to exercise for a week to make up for it. In fact, each cake bar is only 122 calories (although 24% of that is fat).

This is a product which is suitable for vegetarians. It also may contain nuts.

If I had to say anything unfavourable about the Milky Way cake bar, it would be that there just isn't enough of it. It could do with being a tiny bit longer.
