Disadvantages: None for me, I really like them!
At the moment I am trying really hard to eat a bit healthier. I've had enough of all the takeaways and eating out I've done over the past few months and I certainly don't feel great through it and have put on weight so out has gone all the rubbish I was consuming and in are healthier choices and a membership to a gym!
I was in my local Tesco store the other day after the gym when I was feeling a bit peckish but determined I wasn't about to undo all my hard work when I spotted these Go Ahead Crispy Slices. There are a few varieties of these to choose from but I opted for the 'Red Cherry' flavour.
The packaging of these is green plastic oblong shaped pack and on the front of it we are shown a photograph of cherries and told what they are and that in the pack I have that there are 5 packs of 3 within it and that they are 'A sultana and red cherry flavoured filling in a light crispy biscuit' and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown then on the back of the pack other information listed includes ingredients, allergy advice (these are suitable for Vegetarians by the way) there is a full nutritional chart given and contact details for the manufacturer (Mcvities) are given. Inside the pack as promised are 3 biscuits x 5 and they come in see through and bright green and easy to remove packets from the slices/biscuits and on each we are clearly told what they are and the flavour.
The Slices Slash Biscuits:
The slices come baked looking and so are gentle brown colour and have holes to both sides of them. They are oblong in shape and reasonably thick and you can see some of the dark red filling sort of seeping but its set in the middle of each one poking through and they look rather nice and per pack you get a generous amount of the slices and each slice only contains 50 calories per one and with only 0.1g of saturated fat.
Taste wise well these are great. They are really crunchy and crispy and not one bit greasy in touch or taste, the granulated white sugar gives a nice natural sweetness to each one, the slices go creamy almost when chewed and the cherry and sultana filling gives a nice fresh and fruity flavour that is rather sweet but naturally so against the biscuit and there's plenty of it and I find just one of these to really fill a gap on the go!
Although a biscuit/slice Ieat these as a quick snack or breakfast rather than wanting to sit down and scoff them with a cuppa and they are not something I would want to dunk!
Thumbs up for these I really like them and think they are excellent quality for the money and really tasty and although I bought my pack on offer for a pound would be happy to pay the £2.00 a pack they usually retail about at if need be!
Available in all good supermarkets.
Summary: Yummy and not too bad for the hips either!
