... ~~~ When you open the wrapper to the bar you can instantly smell the lovely Raspberry smell. The bar itself is about 4" long and is made up of a delicious wheat biscuit. When you bit into the biscuit it is of a soft consistency with only a very slight crunchyness to it, not at all like a biscuit more like a hard cake. Inside there is a lovely fruit flavoured filling that has the consistency and a look of a jam. ~~~ Taste ~~~ When you bite into these bars the first bite is like biting into a hard cake so it ha...more

Go Ahead Fruit Bakes ~ Raspberry If like me, you are trying to keep an eye on your weight, but every now and then you really fancy something nice and sweet, without the fear of piling on the pounds, then these little beauties are just the thing. ~~~ Packaging ~~~ These little bakes are very noticeable in their bright and cheerful box, with Go Ahead in large bold lettering across the front, which make it instantly recognisable The box is approximately 5" x 5" in size and is in a bright green colour with huge splashes of orange and pink on the front. There are 6 little bars in a box, and the bars are all ...  Read the complete review

Go Ahead - Fruit Bake McVities Go Ahead products have been specifically designed for the lower fat market segment. They have a range of different cereal bars, crisps etc and it is their Go Ahead Raspberry Fruit Bake Bars that I am going to be reviewing. I really enjoy their yogurt bars so was really interested to try these fruit bake bars and see how they compared. McVitie's describe them as " golden baked bars with a delicious raspberry flavoured filling." They can be pretty much described as just like a Kellogg's Special K Nutri-grain bar, ie they look the same and have the same consistency. The fruit filling is a compote type ...  Read the complete review

McVities Go Ahead Raspberry Fruit Bakes: Go Ahead and eat these (294 words)

GoAhead bars are something I eat when I want to have something healthier than chocolate but still something sweet. Honestly though I only find myself eating them when theres no chocolate in the house. Raspberry is definatey one of my favorite flavours though, ive tried the apple and the blackcurrent varieties too, but the raspberry has the strongest taste for me. The filling is basically raspberry jam, so if you like that you should like these. On the box it says there is now 50% more filling and in the ingredient list it says it is 53% of the product. At the bottom of the ingredient list it then says the equivalent raspberry amount is 16% of the product and ...  Read the complete review

Being at college and currently between financial support at the moment through no fault of my own, I try to take in whatever food I can to reduce what we spend as we are now on one income. On one of our two monthly shops we get either one or two boxes of these. *Price* Slightly overpriced, not too fond at all. You get six in one packet and they are big enough to keep you going until dinner time. Expect to pay between £1.60 and £1.80 for a box of six. They last me about a week and a half so spending £1.80 for another box every week slowly adds up. I might as well buy one every day while I am out! *Taste* Very good; the fruit in the ...  Read the complete review

Macvitties make many types of biscuits, But there all time best sub-brand is the go ahead range. There is a large range which includes things like yoghurt bakes, biscuits, crisps, savory slices and even straxberry mallows. tasty. The best bit is though, that they are all quite healthy and do not taste like rabbit food! :P The fruit bakes come in a variety of flavours including apple, blackcurrant, strawberry and the best.. Rasberry. With a hard cake-like outing and soft fruity inner they are great for a breakfast on the go, or even a light snack. Each bar is in three individual segments which makes themeasier to eat. It means that you can even save them for latter. These  Read the complete review
