Disadvantages: Maybe a bit sugary and fattening not too healthy a snack, get stuck on your teeth

Hey, I remember these! I ate them all the time in 2003 I think it was, when I was staying in Cape Cod in North America with some friends of the family.

I was babysitting the grand kids and they produced a giant bag of mini oreos every afternoon when toonami was on (an hour of anime/ Japanese cartoons on every weekday which they seemed to be glued to).

It was the only time of the day when they were quiet and not dragging me half way round the town or beach.

So naturally mini oreos will always remind me of my baby sitting adventures in Cape Cod.

Though recently I have discovered that they sell them in the university shop, though it is hardly the same.

Oreos consist of two dark brown cocoa flavored crunchy biscuits with a very sweet, sugary, white cream between the two.

It is general knowledge that the appropriate way to consume an oreo is to screw the two biscuits apart, eat the creamy centre and then dunk the crunchy cocoa biscuits in milk before devouring them.

However it isn't overly easy to do this with the mini version, I think we just ended up munching the little things by the hand full, which probably wasn't terribly healthy as they are extremely addictive. However we did partake in a lot of swimming and tubing on that holiday so we probably burned a lot of the calories off.

I dont think I could eat a lot of them now however even if they were highly available as they are a bit sweet and sugary for my tastes these days. The biscuits also can make a mess of your teeth as they are quite sticky when they get damp leaving large splats of black goop on your teeth which maybe I didn't notice until I was a little older, but it looks a bit unpleasant.

Also I wouldn't recommend feeding a lot of them to your kids as it may send them into hyper activity like the kids I looked after, but luckily for me i could take them out to burn off some energy.

I think a 115g jar costs around 1.50 in sterling which is probably fair enough considering the price of food in general these days.

I do like the idea of having a resealable lid with this tub because it means you don't have to eat them all at once to save them from going soft, in america the bags couldn't be resealed and we had to eat the entire packet for fear of them being wasted. (Or that was our side of the story any way)

The design and coloring of the packet is very appealing and automatically recognizable on a shop shelf, I don't think it has been changed or adapted for the UK release.
