      Morrisons Mini Plain Tortilla Wraps

Description: Manufacturer: Morrisons / Type: Bread.

Those who regularly read my reviews (thank you so much, I really appreciate all reads, rates and comments) will know that I have been trying to eat healthily and lose the few extra pounds that I put on over the festive season. I am delighted to report that I have lost 4 pounds but am still trying to eat a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.

I have also been trying to replace white breads and rice with wholemeal which is obviously better for me. Having said that, I do have a bit of a weakness for tortilla wraps which are also quite healthy so I have been buying these mini ones from Morrison's which are fab with a variety of fillings or served as an accompaniment to a meal.

A pack of 6 of these mini tortilla wraps cost me £0.72 from my local Morrison's and they are suitable for freezing. They last well before opening and often can be kept for a couple of weeks (check the pack for dates) which makes them handy and convenient too.

The tortilla wraps are plain white and circular shaped. They are around seven inches in diameter which makes them smaller than normal sized ones, meaning that you might need a couple to make up a lunch, but for me, having just one is the perfect way to cut down and yet still feel like I am indulging.

These wraps are tasty and fresh, the taste is quite distinctive to tortilla wraps and can be filled with almost anything. They are deliciously soft and pliable, and each mouthful is soft, chewy and tasty. They also work well just dipped into sauces, soups or meals as an alternative to bread. We like to fill them with cheese, tuna, or spicy chicken and heaps of fresh salad vegetables and then roll them up and enjoy. They are great for kids too and an excellent way to encourage them to eat vegetables because wrapping them up in these little wraps makes mealtimes fun!

      Worth a try! :)

Since starting college I've started to make pack lunches as it's cheaper and sometimes healthier that way...

One of my favourite lunchtime treats at home is tortillas and their own brand '6Mini Plain Tortilla Wraps' were only 69p at Morrisons last week so we got a pack!

These tortillas are in a dark red plastic wrapper and there are half a dozen in each pack, the best before date is usually a couple of weeks in advance.

Described as 'ideal with your favourite filling', these have only 91 calories and 0.5g of sugar plus 1.4g of fats. There is also 0.5g of salt which is quite high but needed for flavour.

Suitable for vegetarians and can be frozen; for allergists they contain gluten.

They keep really well while sealed of course but should be used within three days and should be kept in the fridge. They do keep for a bit longer than that as long as you keep them airtight...

These can be eaten cold but are nicer warmed and there are instructions on the back of the wrapper how to do this via a frying pan, microwave or in the oven.

Different serving suggestions are shown as well but I prefer mine cold at lunchtime with meat and salad in them.

Each tortilla is about the size of a side plate and a few millimetres thick. They are really dry and floury as you would expect, plus they are very doughy and spongy which makes the texture really moreish.

The texture is also very chewy and each tortilla is really filling and tasty which is why I love them so much!

I also use them warmed up with jam and ice cream on them which makes them really sweet and a dessert like a crepe :)

Not as good as Discovery's but better for calories as they are smaller and so healthy, four stars from me as these are pretty good value...
