Advantages: Cheap, easy to cook, looks nice enough

Disadvantages: Lacks flavours

The other night I did my big shop in Morrisons, not usually a store I opt to shop in but I do really like it. I decided to grab me and me mate a garlic baguette each to go with a meal I was preparing us later that evening and costing only 35p each I thought they offered really good value for money!

The Packaging:

If your used to seeing Morrisons Value products in the yellow packaging well they're not anymore! These now come in a white plastic wrapper with green coloured garlics depicted on the front of it and we are told that it is 'M' Savers Garlic Baguette and to 'Cook it from frozen', the weight is stated which is 150g, we are told that it is suitable for Vegetarians and there is an at a glance nutritional chart listed. On the back of the pack other information listed includes ingredients and a full nutritonal chart, we're told how to cook and contact details for Morrisons are given. Better packaging now for this range of products and of course it is as informative as its needs to be.

The Baguette Itself:

To cook this its best to from frozen in which case it goes a lovely golden brown in about 18 minutes. So what you get is a white long loaf of bread, partially sliced and you get about 8 slices in total and between each partial slice you get a cream and green thin mix which is garlic and parsley mixed with margarine and of course a few other things.

The bread cuts or tears easily and is crunchy on the inside and soft on the inside with the filling melted if cooked properly. It smells of garlic and tastes of it however fo me there isnt enough of the mix to give the bread enough flavour. I can't taste the parsley though it does have a nice taste of garlic to it and does taste slight buttery/greasy in between the slices but again not enough for me.

This is simply ok but lacks kick and in future I won't be buying it again but paying a little more, hopefully for something a little more flavoursome!

Summary: Not great!
