Advantages: Tasty!!

Disadvantages: None!

The bake well slices are very attractive to look at. They consist of a slice (sized around 4x2 inches (my guess). The top consists of a lovely looking topping of white icing with 'brown swirls'. The bottom consisting of the bake well with a strip of jam (fruity plum and raspberry) visibly showing.

The slices are 'twin wrapped' meaning that a box of 6 slices consists of 3 individually wrapped portions of two slices'. I think that this is a good amount, and also if you are on a diet, you feel a bit greedy if you go and unwrap another portion. Although, all this packaging isn't good for the environment.

The pastry was very light and slightly crumbly yet not so crumbly that there would be crumbs everywhere. The slices have a lovely soft and moist texture, which isn't dry at all. The texture is perfect; not to 'wet' yet not too 'dry' either.

Each slice (bearing that each individual wrapped portion consists of two slices) will cost you 147 calories, 14.0g of sugar, 6.3g of fat (2.9g of which is saturated and 0.15g of salt. So all in all, not the healthiest of snacks, however I think that they are great as an occasional snack.

I have to say that they aren't as tasty as the original cherry bake wells, although they are nice enough and very moreish. I also find that they are quite filling.

I would highly recommend having these along with a cup of tea - the tea and bake well compliment each other so well. They are perfect for lunch boxes.

These are available at most supermarkets and the price tends to vary between £1 and £2 (they tend to be on offer quite a bit).

I would definitely recommend these!
