Advantages: amazing taste
Disadvantages: A little expensive
I have a major sweet tooth and despite knowing I should control my cravings, I just cannot! One of the things I love and always find myself putting in my shopping trolley with a lot of guilt are good traditional bakewell tart slices! It sounds like its made for older people, it has almonds and jam which confirms older people will love it but I just won't stop until the whole tart is finished!
I always buy mr Kiplings bake well tart slices as they are moist, full of plum and raspberry jam and has a lovely layer of thin icing over it. It just melts in my mouth. It is big enough to serve to 6- 8 people if you were having guests over and it makes a lovely addition to tea or coffee. I usually buy bake well tart when I am in a hurry and cannot prepare anything for desert myself or when I just want a good big serving of desert all to myself! Yes, throughout the day I finish it all by myself! Pretty greedy of me I know!
Mr Kiplings bake well tart slices costs 1 pound and 50 pence for 6 slices, but since a week it is on offer for one pound at Sainsbury's! Obviously I bought a few boxes for myself! I haven't come across a single person yet who has not fallen in love with them. It claims that they are made with free range eggs and I'm sure that does make a difference to their taste. The fresh ones from the supermarket are never as moist!
I absolutely love them and if you are not allergic to nuts or anything, it's perfect. I even give them out as little presents if I go to someone's house for tea and it is always appreciated. Basically if you are a lover of almonds and cake, its just the desert for you.
Summary: Exceedingly good, it's true
