One of my favourite snacks has got to be crackers and cheese, I absolutely love cheese and there is nothing better than eating a few different ones on crackers with a little butter. Ritz crackers have been around for as long as I can remember and I often forget just how nice they are, especially with cheese.

I purchased my last boxes of Ritz crackers from my local Tesco express store over the Christmas period. I say boxes as there was a special offer on at the time of one box for £1.50 or two boxes for £2.00, so I thought for an additional 50p it was worth taking advantage of the offer.

Ritz are different to other crackers in the fact they come in a box but inside the box the crackers are just loose in a clear plastic bag. I have never counted how many crackers that you get in a 200g box but it must be in the region of around 40.

The Ritz crackers themselves are quite small, round and thin. They have a slightly crinkled edge and a nice golden baked colour. On the top of the cracker is a very slight sprinkling of salt. The crackers have quite a crisp but delicate crunch to them and the texture reminds me a little like a firmer puff pastry as they are quite flaky inside which makes the crackers have a nice light consistency.

I like to eat the Ritz as I stated before with a little spread of butter and slice of cheese and am still yet to find a cheese that they do not go with. But you can put just about anything on the Ritz crackers as they are quite plain and even the slight saltiness does not have a huge impact on the flavour so in my opinion I think you could even eat them with sweet toppings. One thing that I thought was nice to see on the box was a couple of little serving suggestions. One of these was for simple cheese and pickle and the other for a Ritz Pizzeta, if you are feeling a little more adventurous.

Overall I do really like these crackers and although I will probably just continue to eat them as I have always done with a bit of cheese on the top I think they are a simple but versatile and tasty cracker!
