~ THE CHOCOLATE BAR ~
The chocolate bar is called Drifter and is made by Nestle. Nestle make a large range of products including well known chocolate bars and treats such as Smarties, Kit Kat and more. Drifter was first launched in 1980 by Rowntree's and is still a popular chocolate bar which is why it's still available to buy today. Nestle took over Rowntree's in 1988 which is why this bar now has Nestle on the packaging. In 2007 Drifter was discontinued and then re-launched again in May 2008. The bar itself consists of 2 crispy wafer fingers dipped in chewy caramel and then covered in milk chocolate. I remember seeing this bar in the shops when I was a child, how-ever I don't actually remember trying it until I was at least 15yrs old, as I used to have my favourite choccie bars then. This bar has become a favourite of mine, and I'm not normally a huge fan of Nestle chocolate as I prefer Cadbury's or Galaxy, how-ever I just love the taste of the 2 chocolate fingers combined with the chewy caramel and milk chocolate. I purchased this chocolate bar from my local Co-Op store for approximately 62p.

~ PACKAGING ~
The chocolate bar comes in a bright blue wrapper which has the words Drifter in large capital letters across the front in red and yellow. The packaging stands out as it's quite bright and you can't help but notice the name of the chocolate bar on the wrapper. On the front it states how many calories are in per finger and it also states that the product is by Nestle. On the back of the wrapper under the flap it gives you a list of ingredients, nutritional information and contact information fro Nestle should you want to contact them for any reason. It also states what the chocolate bar actually is and tells you to store it in a cool and dry place.
~ APPEARANCE/SMELL ~
When I teared open the blue wrapper I could smell a lovely chocolatey smelt, this did smell very sweet so if you haven't got a sweet tooth then you're probably not going to like the chocolate bar itself. You get 2 chocolate fingers in one packet and each finger is approximately 10sm long and 1.5cm wide. The chocolate is rippled on the top of the bar and on the side of the chocolate bar I can see where some of the caramel has seeped out form underneath the chocolate layer. The caramel is a light golden colour. The fingers remind me of a Twix bar due to the same rippled effect of the chocolate on top of the chocolate bar and around the sides.
~ TASTE TEST ~
I took a bite into the finger and my teeth sank into the wafer layers. I had to put a little more force into biting a piece off due to the chewy caramel layer inside the bar. The piece was very crisp due to the wafer and the caramel made it chewy. As I chewed the piece the chocolate melted and merged in within the caramel and wafer and together this tasted lovely. The texture of the piece of chocolate in my mouth was slightly rough due to the crispy wafer layers, how-ever this soon softened up the more I chewed the piece in my mouth. The caramel does stick to your teeth so ensure you have some chewing gum handy, to get rid of these bits. The overall taste of the chocolate finger was delicious and I loved the fact that it was so chewy and the wafer layers were crispy. The finger is a little sickly, so I decided to eat the other chocolate finger a bit later. After eating one of the fingers I was satisfied and didn't want to risk eating another one straight away as I didn't want to feel bloated or sick.
~ OVERALL OPINION ~
Although I'm not a huge fan of Nestle chocolate I love the taste and texture of this chocolate bar. I don't tend to go for this bar all the time, how-ever I will have it occasionally and whenever I do have it I really enjoy it. The chocolate tasted nice and creamy and the caramel was really chewy. The wafer layers were really crispy and you can tell just how crispy they are when you bite into the finger and chew it in your mouth. This is one of my favourite chocolate bars from Nestle and I know I will be buying it again. I give this yummy chocolate treat 4 out of 5 stars.
