“ Brand: Oatland Biscuit Co / Type: Biscuits „
I love mint Viscount biscuits but these Oatland ones are just as good and only cost £1.08 for 14 in Tesco.
They are like a crumbly shortcake biscuit that has got a mint flavoured cream on top and then it's covered in milk chocolate. It looks exactly like a Viscount and is even wrapped up in thin green foil like a Viscount!
The taste is wicked. The biscuit is crunchy and drops loads of crumbs all over you, it's not madly sweet but that's good because the cream is sweeter than on a Viscount so a sweet biscuit would make it a bit overpowering I reckon.
The mint isn't majorly strong but is just right I think, the cream tastes a bit like icing sugar but the mint comes through nice and cool over the taste of the biscuit. There's just enough cream on the biscuits as well, when I brought them I thought there would be less then there is because of them being so cheap but they've got it spot on.
The chocolate is nice and has soaked up the minty flavour a bit, it's quite thin on the biscuit but has got a rich enough taste to make the biscuit taste nice and chocolatey. I think it's a good quality chocolate because it's lovely and creamy, it melts in your mouth and will even leave melted chocolate on your fingers if you hold onto it for too long! lol
These biscuits are mega addictive and it doesn't help that they're not sickly at all, I could eat loads of them if I let myself and regularly eat 2 instead of just 1! They're brill and so much like Viscounts that you could deffo give someone one and they wouldn't know it was a cheap version, the cream is perfect and that's the main thing because it's that that gives the biscuit its flavour.
Recommended..... just like Viscounts!!!
