I do enjoy a bit of garlic bread with my pasta & pizza. Usually I purchase the supermarkets own brand but as this was on offer, I thought I'd give it a go.

Pizza Express of course are a successful chain of Italian style restaurants and their branding has now become commonplace on pizzas, dough balls and of course garlic bread in most of the major supermarkets.
Generally, you pay a premium but from my experience with the pizzas, the quality is high.

The garlic bread with mozzarella smells and feels really fresh when you open the packet. Like most garlic breads on the market, it is sectioned so you can portion with ease. The mozzarella is in smallish cubes and there is a little parsley scattered on top. It's also worth mentioning that you get two portions in a pack and that they are a substantial size.

Cooking is simple, as you just need to pop it into a hot oven for 8 to10 minutes, then it's ready to eat. It really does smell delicious as it is cooking and it takes a lot of self control to allow it to bake for the full amount of time.

Flavour wise, the garlic isn't overpowering. In fact, compared to most other brands, it's very subtle indeed. The mozzarella also adds an extra dimension to the taste experience. The combination of both is quite delightful. As there is a sprinkle of parsley on the bread, it helps prevent the usual garlic death breath. Ideal for a romantic night in then!

Usually this product is priced at £2.95 (260g), which is at least a pound more than the stores own. However, you do get the feeling in both packaging, presentation and most importantly taste, that this is high quality. Which, on occasion can be worth paying extra for.

I would definitely recommend this garlic bread, especially if you see it on offer. This really is restaurant quality food at home.
