Advantages: healthy snacking
Disadvantages: acquired taste
I first thought about trying these when browsing the aisles of Tescos for something healthy to snack on at work.
These are ideal for a healthy snack at work, as they contain fibres and seeds useful for a healthy balanced diet. I feel like it is better for me to munch on these rather than crisps and choccy bars.
Benefits of the product
Ryvitas don't contain artificial ingredients, they are low in saturated fats (the baddies!) and high in fibre which is a staple part of your diet.
They can be eaten at any time of the day really, you could even have a few for breakfast. I tend to have two at a time topped with lots of cheddar which keeps me going.
Personal experience
So far I have tried the sunflower seed variety and the pumpkin seed variety.
I have mine with extra mature Cathedral City cheddar and I slice the cheese quite thickly. Some may prefer to top theirs with butter and fruit as well as the cheese, though its really up to you what flavour combinations you prefer. Chutney is suggested on the side of the packet, I know some people can be more creative with their food choices than others too!
Price & Availability
Available in the majority of medium-large supermarkets, these are priced at approximately £1.50 for a pack of 200g and about 16 crispbreads.
Overall
Great for healthier snacking, tasty with cheese, contain seeds which I don't necessarily like eating by themselves. Getting your daily fibre intake up with only 0.9g of fat in each crispbread.
Brilliant for snacking at work as a replacement for the high fat options.
Summary: Tasty with cheddar cheese
