Advantages: dunk well in tea
Disadvantages: poor quality chocolate
There is nothing I love more than a good cup of tea and a biscuit for dunking. I love them all: dodgers, jaffas, bourbons. I just can't get enough. Usually I go for the preferred brand such as Fox's or McVittie's however when times are tight I do dabble in own branded biscuits. Due to the fact I live near Sainsburys I often get a packet or two of their Sanisburys Basic Chocolate Digestive Biscuits.
They come in a large 300 gram packet (it's a cylinder of biscuits surrounded in a plastic packet.) The packet is a plain white with the Sainsburys orange basic branding. It comes with the usual spiel with a description and nutritional information found on the back.
As for their taste they are not bad. The biscuit taste like a digestive should and is fresh and crunchy. It is let down by the quality of chocolate on top. The thin layer is a long way off the quality of Cadbury but when you are spending 30 pence a packet what can you expect.
When it comes to dunking into a cup of tea they do show some durability. I hate biscuits that get so soggy they break off. These do not have this problem and are very good when you have friends over for a cuppa (then you can save your more expensive biscuits for yourself.)
It is incredible that you can get an entire packet for 30 pence but they are missing the quality that a McVittie's offer.
Summary: A good cheap biscuit ideal for sharing
