Advantages: Low in fat

Disadvantages: Low in taste!

I love cream crackers and get through loads of them. I'm not into Jacobs cream cracker offerings as I find them too hard on my teeth so normally opt to purchase shops own one's. Being on a health kick at the moment when I saw these being 50% less fat I simply had to try them!

The Packaging....

White and lime green oblong plastic square sort of packet and on two sides of the packet there is a picture of the crackers and I'm told that they are Sainsbury's 'Be Good To Yourself' Cream Crackers '50% less fat a healthier option' and I'm told they are Vegetarian and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. Other information on the packet tells me the ingredients and lists allergy advice and nutritional information, I'm told how to store them and given contact details for Sainsburys and the size is stated (200g).

The Crackers....

First off I counted 23 crackers in my packet. They are squared in shape with slightly rounded edges and a light golden brown colour with patches of darker brown in some places. They are smooth in some places as well as rough in others and engraved into one side the words Cream cracker adorns it whilst the other side is completely flat giving off a baked look. They have a very slight sort of baked bread smell to them (if you sniff really hard) and basically look good rather good!

Taste wise...

I'm not keen n these at all. These are rather dry (even with toppings on). They do have a baked taste but like I say they are really drying in the mouth. They have a floury taste and are seasoned well enough but they are not creamy, have a slightly powdery sort of taste to them and break rally easily.

They are crunchy but like I say you do have to be careful with them as they do snap with ease and all round really I'm just not overly keen on them because of their dryness!

Allergy Advice....

Contains wheat gluten & barley gluten.
Not suitable for egg or sesame allergy sufferers due to the methods used in the manufacturer of the product.
