I like brioche and always take them with my when travelling! for breakfast we only really have them around christmas time! I like to try different brands of brioche, but I think Sainsburys ones are my favourite ones! They are very often on offer with 2 for £2. The rolls are in a plastic bag with 8 in each bag, The bag is clear so you can see the brioche and see how soft and tasty they look! They are very sponge like and very soft and lighly sweet. They are great grilled so the top goes a little bit crispy. I like to pop mine in the microwave for 10secs just to warm up! You can eat them with anything really, most popular option would be either jam or chocolate spread. Some people prefer these to croissant and so have these as a substitute. The main ingredients for sainsburys brioche are: Wheat Flour, Whole Egg (13%), Sugar, Whole Cows'milk, Concentrated Butter (8%) (From Cows'milk) (With Colour:beta Carotene), Water, Yeast, Salt, Emulsifier (Mono and Diglyceride of Fatty Acids, Sodium Stearoyl-2lactylate), Wheat Gluten, Dextrose, Flavouring, Flour Treatment Agent: Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). They are also suitable for vegetarians, but not suitable for coeliac disease sufferes and milk or egg intolerant people. This product may also contain nuts. The main nutritional values per roll are: Energy: 125kcal Total Sugars: 5.6g Fat: 3.9g Fibre: 0.6g So if these are used in substitute for croissants they are alot better for you than croissants! Each pack costs £1.69 when not on offer, you can also try the brioche with chocolate chips in. They are really yummy at any time of the day or night!
I went to Sainsbury's today afternoon to buy nappies for my sons and I wanted to treat them with something delicious this afternoon and tomorrow in the morning. I was shopping around and I found Sainsbury's Butter Brioche Rolls. They looked really appetizing and they were on offer. The pack of 8 rolls was only one pound so I took immediately two packs. The picture on the pack shows the brioche rolls with a glass of milk. I bought a small jar of Nutella as we have milk at home. The rolls were wrapped in a transparent bag so you can see the golden brioche rolls in it clearly. They are about 15 cm long and their texture is like a sponge. They are extremely soft and slightly sweet. Actually they are enriched French bread. They contain more egg, butter and sugar so they are very soft, tender, sweet and very tasty. Even its golden crust is very soft. I cut them into halves and I spread Nutella on them but they are really good with jam or butter or honey as well. Drinking a cup of milk or tea to it makes it a wonderful meal and also a delicious treat. If you serve them to guests you can cut them into small slices just like a bread and top the little slices with Nutella, jam, honey, butter, icing, etc. The ingredients are: Wheat Flour, Whole Egg (14%), Sugar, Cows' Milk, Concentrated Butter (from Cows' Milk) (8%) (With Colour: Beta-carotene), Yeast, Salt, Emulsifiers: Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Sodium Stearoyl-2-Lactylate; Wheat Gluten, Natural Flavourings, Flour Treatment Agent: Ascorbic Acid. The nutritional values per roll are as follows: Energy: 125kcal Protein: 3.2g Carbohydrate: 19.4g Total Sugars: 5.6g Starch: 13.8g Fat: 3.9g Fibre: 0.6g Salt: 0.35g Sodium: 0.14g To sum up, the Sainsbury's butter brioche rolls come in a pack of 8, each roll is 35 g. They are slightly sweet and they are really good with butter, jam, honey or Nutella. I suggest you to drink milk or tea to it and you will see that 2-3 rolls are really filling. I haven't tried to dunk them into my cup of milk and I think its spongy texture is not suitable for dunking. It is really delicious and now they are on offer!
Brioche rolls have been me favourite rolls for as long as I can remember. I first consumed brioche bread before I knew there were also brioche rolls out there. When I figured about the rolls, I could see my life lightening up a little bit for the reason that the brioche bread was never sliced, and when you tried to slice it yourself the slices would kind of break when you try to lift them up. However, now I got the rolls it means I can easily consume them without a struggle and annoyance of the brioche chipping away whilst I'm trying to eat them. It also a good idea that they come in packs of eight because they are enough to share between my whole family. Of course it wouldn't be a good idea to those who have a family of over four people because if you only have one of the roll you wouldn't be satisfied, eat two of them or more and you will be! I'm sure a lot of people are familiar with Sainsburys the privately owned supermarket, that has grown vastly since they've launched and sell different kinds of foods and other non-food products. I've never really had problems with the company, never made a complain to them at all, so when i consume their products i'm always joyful. If you kind of hate them, you might change your mind after consuming these butter brioche rolls. I remembered once when i was going to Egypt and the cabin crew lady gave me brioche bread, i called her back to ask if they had the rolls, to my shock they did not, so i had to get over it and ate the bread (just a little story to tell you how much i'm in love with the rolls, of course i know the roles in the plane might have been another brands rather than Sainsburys..) They might not be too healthy as one roll has 127 calories. I've never thought this was much of a problem as I'm learning to balance my meals nowadays, therefore I have two rolls a day sometimes four actually if I can't find anything to eat for lunch. To be honest I don't think the calories is a big issue when talking about these roles, because each role still has 3g of protein 2.g of sugar 17.6g of starch 0.3g of salt and a huge 4g of fat. So it could be a good idea to have a piece of fruit after consuming these to help your body system in breaking down the fat or you could always go out for a quick exercise. These brioche rolls taste amazing. Imagine sweet tasting bread, it's exactly how these taste. They don't exactly make your mouth water as they are full of starch but they would definitely do wonders in your mouth. They taste rather milky, you could say it's a cake but no it's not because they are so soft to the touch and when you bite them. I don't know why they call them butter brioche because I can't really taste the butter though it makes up 8% of the whole brioche role. I really like their taste and adore the sweet smell that comes from the rolls. They smell really sweet and lovely. The smell really begs you to eat them, and yes when you eat them you will not be disappointed. I found out that they taste better when you eat them with a drink at the same (that is when the brioche rolls show their true colours on how delicious they can make your world). These rolls are actually one of the most expensive rolls I've seen in Sainsbury's. A pack of eight rolls will cost your around £1.40, which I think is quiet a lot but worth it as I buy them at least once a month. It is a shame that they are only sold in Sainsbury's, of course you can get some other type of brioche bread out there but these Sainsbury's ones are definitely the best ones I've come across all my life. I also noticed that the price of the eight rolls is similar to the brioche loaf though the loaf is not like other normal loaves of bread as it's rather small so you would feel like you're being cheated. Therefore you should go for the rolls instead! The brioche rolls are normally near the bakery area were you would also find their other types of brioche rolls e.g. which fruit or chocolate etc, but don't look at those, all you are looking for are the plain butter brioche rolls. They are not that hard to notice really, as they would be in a colourful blue and colourless plastic pack. However, if you want them to contain that wonderful taste, it's best that you store these brioche bread in a dry place and for them to keep their cool it's best you make sure the packet is sealed tightly (enough to stop the air from entering). I would definitely urge everyone to try these out. These are the kind of rolls that everyone would like, just like everyone likes milk, you would definitely go along with these. I am 99.99999% sure that you will love these rolls, they can be eaten everywhere really, whether you are going out for a picnic, for a long car journey, preparing you kids lunch box, you preparing breakfast or lunch, you wouldn't want to miss these after you've consumed them. They suite every occasion but mainly breakfast and lunch. Of course if you are allergic to eggs, wheat or milk you would not want to consume these brioche rolls as they are made mainly from those products. The rolls are not suitable for people who are allergic to nuts as well because of how these brioche rolls were manufactured (not that I know how). Seriously out of all the food reviews I've written if you are to try any of them in order, these brioche rolls should be on top of your list.
