      Very helpful

A delicious addition to my party table.

I love both camembert cheese and cranberries so was thrilled whilst shopping for Christmas goodies to find these chilled Camembert & Cranberry Parcels in Sainsbury's as part of their festive party food range.

There are ten in a box and after placing them on the baking sheet I was a little surprised at how small the parcels were considering the size of the packaging. Anyhow, after cooking them for around 5 minutes I can say they both looked and smelled delicious.

I arranged them on a plate along with several other party foods and myself and my granddaughters' prepared to tuck in. The parcels are wrapped in a crispy filo pastry which is not greasy at all to the touch and left very little grease on the kitchen roll that I'd placed them on.

The pastry is wrapped around a gloriously gooey camembert, made all the more gloriously gooey by cooking. The cheese is soft and has a rich and full bodied flavour, I can tell from the very first bite that Sainsbury's have used a very good quality camembert which is surprising in itself considering usually inferior and synthetic cheese is used in this type of frozen product.

I found the camembert to be creamy with the subtle milkiness of flavour that I'd expect from this cheese. Be careful when you first try one though as greedy guts here burned her mouth on the hot cheese after popping one directly in my mouth from the oven! Not a good idea, at least wait a couple of minutes for it to cool!

I couldn't quite tell whether there are whole cranberries or pieces inside the parcel, they give a lovely fruity taste which is quite vague on the palate although does make itself more apparent as you get used to the flavour of the parcels themselves. They are extremely soft cranberries whereas I would have preferred a little more texture, but they lent the parcels a similar flavour to that you would expect from the cranberries used in your Christmas stuffing.

The filo pastry really holds these parcels together beautifully, both physically and flavour wise. The crispiness is wonderful next to the extreme softness of the camembert filling and I honestly could have eaten all ten of them to myself! I found these so moreish, luckily for me only one of my granddaughters' liked the parcels so we ended up sharing them five each and although I felt a little sick afterwards I have to put this down to generally being a bit of a pig over Christmas and these were just the final straw.

Each small parcel contains 55 calories and 3.5g of fat, not bad I suppose compared to the REALLY high fat goodies I've eaten recently but that's still an awful lot of fat for one mouthful of food. I paid around £1.85 for them, which I think is great value for such a delicious addition to my party table.
