Great tasting nuts if you can't afford to buy the main brands.

I never used to like dry roasted peanuts, mainly because I had never tried them, but after trying them this Christmas I found that I actually do like them. I've now been buying dry roasted over salted as they are just as nice. I have tried a variety of brands with varying success, this is one that I have liked quite a bit.

The nuts I have come in a 600g bag that is brown all over, with a picture of the nuts on the front. On the rear there is the usual information about nutrition, ingredients etc. The bag I have is the largest they do at my Sainsbury's and cost me just over £2. They also sell these in a smaller 200g bag for about £1 which may suit those on a lower budget.

The peanuts themselves are of a medium to small size compared to some I have eaten before but this is not really a problem. As most of them are split, only one side of most are covered in the herb and spices seasoning. This again is not really a problem as there is still enough seasoning on each to be flavoursome. Some dry roasted peanuts I have had recently have had quite strong and unsavoury flavours, whereas these have quite a taste that I not too strong. I prefer this over a strong taste as I think it overpowers the taste of the peanut.

The peanuts have a slight sweetness that can be tasted through the seasoning which makes a nice mix of sweet and savoury. As the taste is not too overpowering, they are quite easy to eat and they don't really dry your mouth out much.

Compared to the leading brands, they are quite a good alternative as they have quite a nice taste and are reasonably priced. If I could afford the extra then I would probably buy the leading brands as I feel they are slightly nicer than these. However, as I am on a limited budget, just like many others, then I will stick with these as they are tasty enough for me. I would have to rate these 4/5 as they aren't as good as the leading brands, but they are a good alternative.

      Thanks for reading!
