      Very helpful

      A yummy chocolate and vanilla marble cake with a soft and fluffy sponge.

      ***MARBLE CAKE***
      I used to have this cake as a child and I have been meaning to buy it for a few weeks now, so I thought I would pick this up on my next trip to Sainsbury's which I did.

      This yummy marble cake is a chocolate and vanilla flavour Madeira cake. This cake is available from Sainsbury for £1.35 and serves 7 people. The cake comes in a paper case and is then wrapped in film. When opened simply store this product in a cool dry place away from strong light and odours in an air-tight container.

      This cake contains egg, wheat, gluten.

      Not suitable for peanut or nut allergy sufferers due to the methods in the manufacture of this product.

      Each slice provides:

      * Fat - 9.4g
      * Sat Fat - 0.9g
      * Salt - 0.25g
      * Total Sugar - 16.5g
      * Calories - 204

      When taking the cake out of the plastic wrapper the cake itself is a darkish brown colour but also have a golden yellow colour in it as well. Looking at the end of the cake you can see a nice beige sponge colour with brown chocolate marbled into the vanilla sponge. When smelling the cake it smells nice and chocolatey and smells very sweet as well. It smells just like chocolate cake but not such a strong smell of chocolate.

      ***TASTE TEST***
      The cake cuts nicely with a sharp knife and just slides down through the cake, cutting a nice piece off. When taking my first bite of the cake I could taste the sweetness of the cake on my tongue and the sponge was nice and soft and felt light and fluffy in my mouth. There is a nice vanilla taste to the sponge and you can also taste the chocolate slightly in this cake as well. The cake wasn't messy to eat and it wasn't crumbly and didn't fall apart when biting into it.

      After eating the cake I felt very satisfied, and I definitely couldn't manage another slice as I thought this was quite filling and a tiny bit sickly as well. It also made me quite thirsty as well. There wasn't a huge amount of chocolate taste to the cake but there was enough and I think if there had been any more of the chocolate flavour it would have been far too sickly to eat.

      This cake serves 7 people, obviously this depends on how big you cut the slices, but it is quite sickly so I would say it could maybe serve a few more people if you make the slices thinner. This cake had a delicious sweet, fluffy sponge and was very soft. It had just the right amount of chocolate in the sponge and tasted very nice and was very satisfying. This is a great cake for the family to share and is great at children's party if you cut the cake into small squares. This cake does have quite a lot of fat in, so I will only have it now and again as a treat when I'm craving something sweet. This is a great cake to have with tea or to eat just on its own.
