Advantages: bite-sized

Disadvantages: far too sweet

I'm a huge fan of Greek-style appertizers, such as these cheese-stuffed peppers. They were bought for me as a treat from Sainsburys, where you can find a variety of similar products. The counters in particular stock a few different types, and if you intend to eat them the same day you can often pick up a reduced pot.

These come in a little plastic tub that can be stored in the fridge, and are good for a couple of days after opening. The tub can also be re-used afterwards if you like to recycle. They can be added to a salad or eaten on their own; if you're health conscious then make sure you drain off some of the olive oil before eating!

Each pepper is bite-sized and very sweet; I personally prefer a spicy pepper to a sweet one, when it comes to stuffing with cheese. The cheese itself is very sweet too, which is where the problem lies. Each mouthful is quite sickly with all this sweetness; I am used to these dishes having a spicey, savoury pepper filled with a sweeter cheese, which allows the different extremes of flavour to combine very pleasantly. I found the sweetness to be overwhelming and sadly couldn't finish the pack.

The peppers are also quite oily, as with all similar products; If you're eating them on their own I would recommend a light rinse or putting them onto some kitchen towel briefly to take off the excess, as the amount of oil is unpleasant. Added to a salad, however, the oil would make for a good dressing, so no draining needed!

I would recommend these to someone who was a fan of sweet dishes, or who wanted to try out stuffed peppers but isn't a fan of the spicier varieties.

Summary: A very sweet bite-sized appetiser
