Lovely as a treat these are!

When it comes to scones both me and my mate love them. Staying with her at the moment we love nothing more than a bit of afternoon tea with loose tea and a yummy scone and some butter and jam whilst trying to put the world to rights! We like shopping in Sainsbury's and so when we spotted these at 79p for 6 of them we popped them in our trolley to try that afternoon! The Packaging: First off the title of this review is correct however the scones we are got are not the fresh one's as shown on the photograph and just one's pre-packed from the bakery. Ours came in a see-through and light pink plastic wrapper. On the front we are told that they are Sainsbury's Sultana Scones, there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there and the best before date is clearly displayed. On the back of the wrapper other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice, a full nutritional rundown chart is shown and contact details for Sainsbury's are of course given. Nice enough, informative packaging this is and it's an easy enough to open packet too! The Scones: Round and light beige inside with visible pieces of dark, juicy sultanas throughout them they are rather thick and slightly baked golden to the outside of them. Easy to cut open without being too messy if you use a sharp knife, they are easy enough to deal with and don't crumble and/or fall apart too badly at all. Of course you can fill them with whatever you like these! We found these to be moist without being too damp or greasy or anything adverse at all. There was plenty of fruit within them which was slightly sweet but natural tasting and overall found these to be very nice indeed. We liked the overall bready taste mixed with fruit and that they were not too overly sweetened so you could choose if you wanted them to be type of thing and so we would definitely purchase these again in the future. Suitable for freezing, we personally didn't do that but we did bung them in a bread bin for a couple of days and they managed to stay very fresh indeed! Like em lots!
