5* taste let down by 5 * price

My partner originally bought this as the price had been reduced (to half price) due to sell by date. Because she knows I love anything lemon and thought it would be nice to give it a try.
It is Lemon sauce sandwiched between Limoncello soaked sponges topped with a limoncello liqueur mousse with a Valencian lemon glaze avec candid lemon peel.
Singularly the layers had their own had their faults. The Mousse was a bit too heavy on its own. The sponge tasted bitty/grainy, but that could be due to the fact it is soaked in the liqueur, and the glaze had no taste to me. But I suppose you're not meant to eat the layers singularly it's been made to be eaten as a whole.
The layers combined tasted fantastic I could have easily eaten both portions (but my other half wouldn't give me hers lol). I would definitely happily eat it again but not at its original price (perhaps if it's reduced again) as it is just too extravagant for our family's budget.
I could have done with bigger portions, and if the portions were bigger I might consider paying its original price, Sainsbury's do, make and supply a bigger gateau, but the price rises with the portion size.
