Sainsbury's white chocolate chip cookies
Price £1.05 but sometimes you can get them on offer for 50p. The price isn't bad for freshly baked cookies.
I was shopping today before my shift and really fancied something from the bakery section but not bread something for my lovely sweet tooth I came across these cookies in a brown and blue paper bag. In total you get 5 large freshly baked cookies.
I saw they are chocolate chip cookies but they are more like chocolate chunk cookies. They are delicious I have naughtily eaten 4 of them already (oops) they are not too hard and not too soft. I found that I could break a section off without getting covered in crumbs. The white chocolate is delicious. My favourite type of chocolate.
The expiry date is 22nd October which gives me two days to eat them, being freshly made I expected an early expiry date. This was not a shock.
Unfortunately I cannot comment on the calories or ingredients because they are not listed on the packet which is a down fall for me. I like to know how many calories so I can justify eating more than one. It does however say, please contact a member of staff to find out about the allergy and ingredients.
I would recommend these for a treat every now and again and I'm sure children will love them as well but living on my own I think I'm going to stick to buying them when they are on offer as eating 5 large cookies in 2 days isn't good for me.
White chocolate chip cookies are my favourite. I buy them at least once a week, much as I try to resist! We do the majority of our shopping in Tesco so I tend to buy them from there either at 99p for 5 or 1.39 for 4 of their Finest cookies. However, when I went into Sainsburys the other day to pick up a few bits, their bags of cookies were on buy one get one free! This meant two bags of cookies for £1.00, bargain I thought and grabbed a bag of these and the double chocolate variety (review to follow!). The cookies are from the bakery section of the store.
The cookies come in a primarilly paper bag, with a plastic peep hole. The bag is light blue in colour, with chocolate brown coloured sides and writing. The writing tells me the packet contains 5 white chocolate chip cookies. Each cookie is a really generous size and I was really happy with them, they were about 4 inches wide and probably about 3/4 centimetre tall. They were quite a light brown colour and appeared to have plently of white chocolate chunks in them. They were quite bumpy in appearance and had a home made look about them.
So onto the taste test. These cookies tasted really really nice. The biscuit itself was soft and chewy, it tasted sweet but not as though there was too much sugar. The cookie mix had been mixed well and the biscuit was quite smooth with no bits. The white chocolate chunks were everywhere and in each mouthful I found at least two or three. The chocolate was of really good quality, it wasn't sickly and it went really well with the biscuit. It was smooth, creamy and light. I think Sainsburys have been extremely generous with the helping of chocolate in these cookies as there is a vast amount and plently to please any chocolate fans!
One downside to these cookies is that they are very moreish and I will often eat two back to back meaning I am left with stomach ache! There is no nutritional information on the packet as they are from the instore bakery but I imagine they aren't the healthiest snack in the world!
I will certainly be buying these cookies, I even intend to go into Sainsburys especially for them! They have a lovely texture and taste making them a perfect snack for just about anyone. I also thought they were really good value for money, especially on the buy one get one free offer. These cookies are highly recommended!
