      A great party purchase

I've bought a couple of bags of these crisps over the last few weeks whilst they've been on offer in Morrisons at £1 per bag. The bags are a great party size, holding 150g, which translates into the non-scientific measurement of a good big bowl full!

The crisps are quite thin and crunchy, they are definitively "crisp" shape, as opposed to the crinkled up nature of kettle chips, and in the main they are all perfectly cooked - just a few inevitable rogue burnt bits lurking at the bottom the bag.

The flavouring is tasty but not what I was expecting. I bought the first bag to take along to a girls night in. Knowing that I can be a bit of a pig, I actually chose these because I thought they'd be a bit too hot for me, but that they would be to the other girls' taste... Unfortunately (!) I found that I found them delicious. Whilst the sweet chilli is there, and the crisps definitely taste spicy, there's no massive chilli kick lying in wait, just a really pleasant flavour and slight heat. The bag is really striking in black with bright red chillis on the front - so I think this kind of set my expectations at "red hot" which isn't the case.

The "thai sweet chilli" flavouring does include chilli powder and also dried red and green peppers and red pepper oil, so there is authenticity in there, and the peppers tastes are certainly prevelant. There are tiny red and green specs on the crisps, presumably the peppers, and the chilli powder does leave that chilli burn momentarily on the tongue.

There are no preservatives, no artificial colours, no artificial sweeteners and no artificial flavour enhancers (MSG) which practically makes these a healthy snack (!!) - I wish! A 30g serving (also optimistic) contains 151 calories, 7.9g fat, 0.7g saturates and 0.47g salt. I really enjoyed these crisps but I'm knocking a star off for how unhealthy they are and also (although it wasn't a bad thing for me) their name and packaging suggests that they would be much hotter.
