Advantages: nice crisps :)
Disadvantages: very strong flavour at times!
Normally when eating your average crisps such as Walkers I tend to go for the easy fail safe option of ready salted, as they're reliable and I know that I'll always like them! However these were in the house the other day so I thought that I might as well try them! I was pleasantly surprised.
They are in a traditional Smiths packet, (Smiths make other nostalgic crisps such as Frazzles and the original salt and shake), which is blue and it has a see through window at the bottom below the logo and name of the crisps so you can see the crisps before eating them!
They are different to normal crisps in that instead of being potato based like Walkers they are corn based, and you can definitely tell the difference. They look like the French fry crisps you get from walkers as they are long and thin, but they are totally covered in flavouring. Because of being corn based they have an entirely different texture and are actually quite crunchy, but at the same time if you leave them on your tongue then they will dissolve! The flavour is certainly very strong, bland crisps these are not! In fact the vinegar flavour in the crisps is so strong that at times it can make your eyes water! Especially as the amount of vinegar flavour varies between crisps.
They aren't too expensive, just the same price as normal crisps. About 40p for a single bag wherever, but probably a bit more expensive at places such as airports or service stations. Then you will be able to get a multipack for just over a pound, and they are included in the 3 multipacks of crisps for £3 frequently on offer.
You can get them from all major supermarkets, and also other places such as WHSmith and corner shops, however they aren't as widely available as some crisps such as the ever popular Walkers Ready Salted!
Basically if you like salt and vinegar crisps and haven't tried these, then you must!
