Snickers Flapjacks - not as good as the chocolate bar
Member Name: caz-3124
Disadvantages: Too peanuty
I really quite like Snickers chocolate bars, I find them to be tasty and for chocolate, quite filling and substantial. Therefore I was intrigued to see if these flapjacks would be quite as good.
I'm not an expert on flapjacks, I don't really eat them that often apart from when I see the Bakin Boys ones being sold half price sometimes.
These came in a five pack. I think that they were about £1, I've seen them in Poundland sometimes too. In fact, if you weren't looking closely, you could quite easily pick this up thinking it was a pack of their chocolate bars.
The packaging is almost identical, brown with the words Snickers in blue and only in small writing underneath the word 'flapkack' and in the corner the words 'baked by McVities' so do be careful you dono't pick up the wrong thing.
The bars are about 2/3 the size of the chocolate bar. I was surprised to see it was also just 167 calories.
The bar is about 1 -2 cm thick. It's mostly compacted oats but you can see peanuts scattered around and on top there is a thin layer of chocolate.
Though there weren't loads of peanuts by the look of it, the taste of the nuts was very strong, a little too strong for me as there was not quite the balance beween oat and nut. As the chocolate layer was very thin, youl couldn't really taste much chocolate either.
To me it tasted rather like a Snickers bar but just with bits taken out, the flapjack bit was a bit dominated by the other flavours.
