      Advantages

      • "good size for lunchbox"

      Disadvantages

      Quite tasty, but small

These banana loaves are surprisingly tasty to me, as I do not usually like cakes/loafs made with banana. However, for the price I paid I was slightly disappointed with the size of them. I would have liked them to be a bit bigger. I guess they are a good size for a childs lunchbox, although my son did not like them, which is why I ended up eating them. So, they are great if you like banana and if you just want a small snack.

      tasty snack

This was something I had never tried until I got a pack of the minis in a grocery box. Well what can I say, I liked them that much I got another with a coupon that also came with the product.

Soreen is a product that has been around for years and can be bought at most supermarkets. Having worked in a supermarket the only people I ever sold this product to was the older generation and I associated this as being a product as "something my nana would eat"

      **Packaging**
The packaging for this is average. I don't like how it cant be resealed but I suppose its not something that lasts that long.

I wasn't really sure how to eat this when I bought my first loaf. I had been eating a slice with breakfast but my friend had said its a pudding. It doesn't matter really I prefer to eat this the way it comes.
Texture- very squishy. This feels like stodgy food- great as a snack.I think of it as a snack with substance instead of something light where you don't feel full at all.
It is a little dry to be honest but it goes perfectly with a cup of tea.
Taste - a nice banana taste . It feels more like a banana loaf than something healthy.
Not being a huge fruit fan I like this more than the original

      **Nutritional information/ 100g: ** per 1/10 loaf
      Calories 313 89
      protein 6.6g 1.9
      carbs 61.2g 17.4
      sugar 22.6g 6.4
      fat 4.1g 1.2
      salt 0.65g 0,19

I think a portion size is very filling, more so than chocolate. The sugar content is higher than I like but I have to look at it as being okay since the sugar is from fruit so better than other sugars.

This costs £1.25 but is often on offer for £1

      a great alternative

I love the original Soreen Maly Loaf and when I saw the banana one on the shelves I had to try it as i also love bananas! It is a bright orange packet with soreen logo and bananas on the front saying " Bursting with yummy banana".

The texture is just like the normal malt loaf and is full of banana flavour, at first I found it too sickly but the taste is growing on me now. Its still low in saturated fat and gre
at source of energy. It is great for a mid morning or mid afternoon snack for a little pick me up.

I think it is a little expensive at £1.25 each so I only usually buy it when it is on special offer.

      Nutritional information/ 100g:

      carbs 61.2g
      sugar 22.6g
      fat 4.1g
      salt 0.65g

Overall this is a healthy option for a snack, it is sweet and full of banana flavour, at first the flavour is sickly but others i know have loved it from day one. A great alternative to the original malt loaf, but i still think the original is the best.

Summary: Great product and great to see Soreen being innovative as usual

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Great product and great to see Soreen being innovative as usual

Upon initial inspection you are greeted with a bright orange wrapping with the trademark Soreen logo and various other tidbits of information, the flavor, the low fat and calorific information, the packet is also emblazoned with bananas and gives a direct indication of what is to come.

As a long time consumer of Soreen Fruity Malt Loaf the addition of the new Banana flavor is excellent, the texture and appearance is very similar to Soreen's original malt loaf with a welcome twist of Banana, this stuff is absolutely brimming with banana flavor, it's a great low fat source of calories when you need a bit of a lift, I regularly eat this in the afternoon when I need a pick me up whilst at work or university and it more than does the job.

Overall this stuff is just fantastic, you can often find it in shops on offer, I picked mine up at my local co-op for just 50p when it was on offer, eat it when your sugars need a lift or you need a burst of energy to get you through those long afternoons.
