I can give up biscuits, buns, chocolate but one thing I can't live without is crisps! Space raiders are a great memory from my childhood so I love eating them every now and again. They were 10p when I was younger and then went up to 15p. They are now at 20p which is double what I used to pay but still probably the cheapest packet of crisps out there. They are available in Spicy flavour, bbq, pickled onion, beef and salt and vinegar. I don't like bbq but I am a big fan of the rest. The packaging hasn;t changed at all over the years which I love and is still plain black with a picture of an alien in the middle which is what shape the crisps are. Spicy flavour have a orange alien, pickled onion have green, salt and vinegar have blue, beef have red and bbq have purple which makes them all stand out and at a glance you know which flavour they are. Each bag is 25g and has all the nutritional information on the back (not that I've ever read it but just in case you wanted to). They are spicy but its just a hint of spice which makes them pleasant to eat. They are a bit messy and make your fingers orange but that's the best bit licking your fingers afterwards! They won't fill you up but they are a nice treat and are quite addicting. I will admit I normally have to eat 2 bags when I have these!
When it comes to crisps and snacks I simply can't bypass them. I would and I'm sure could live on crispy crisps and corn flavoured snacks such as these! I found bags of these recently in my local B & M store and they only cost 20p a bag and so I bought myself a few bags of them in the spicy flavour. The Packaging: These come in a simple black bag and on the front of it in an orange colour there is an alien style face shown and in yellow and again orange writing we are told that they are indeed Space Raiders 'Spicy Flavour Cosmic Corn Snacks' and there is an a big banner across the top of the bag telling us that they only retail at 20p a bag and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown then on the back of the bag other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice being clearly stated, there is a full nutritional rundown given, the size of the bag is stated which in this case is 25g and contact details for the manufacturer are given. The Corn Snacks: Bright yellow and a little puffed up and messy to the touch as they are a bit greasy...these are little alien style heads in shape. You can crunch them up or suck them till they go soggy and to a pulp and I have to admit that I rather like these! These to me have a real corn sort of taste to them, they are well seasoned and have a bit of a onion curry flavour to them to me along with a slight hint of a chilli kick which gives a little hotness though not so much heat they blow your brains out or anything like that. They are tangy and moreish I think though they don't fill any hunger pangs for me they are a tasty treat at only 123 calories and 0.6g of Saturated Fat a bag I never feel guilty after consuming any! Available from all good supermarkets and newsagents and the likes.
