When it comes to snacky type foods I really am a big fan of them. I spotted these mini (cocktail) sausages in my local Tesco Express store reduced from £1.65 a carton to 45p one evening and couldn't wait to get nibbling on them!

The Packaging:

The sausages come in a see-through oblong shaped plastic carton and over that is a peel back blue and white checked lid and on that we are told that they are Tesco Lincolnshire 'Bitsize' Cocktail Sausages and that they are 'Baked not fried, Produced in the EU and contain no artificial flavours or colours' and that they are suitable for freezing and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown too. On the back of the carton other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice being given as well as storage information and a full nutritonal rundown chat, that the product weighs 255g and contact details for Tesco are clearly stated. Nice enough, informative packaging this is though it isn't resealable!

The Sausages:

Small and certainly bitesize in the looks stakes, these really do look like little tempting baked sausages. The sausage is made up from pork and pork fat so they are moist and blended with parsley, sage, thyme and nutmeg and I can't feel any gristle within them at all and they are slightly chewy but tasty and well seasoned with the herbs really being noticable along with the pork flavouring.

However after the first delicious couple of them that I had consumed I started to feel a bit ill to be honest. I felt like all of a sudden I was biting through lard and I came to the decision there and then that you really can have too much of a good thing....but a few don't hurt!

The sausage skin on the outside of the sausages is collagen though it isn't string and/or rubbery and not really noticable as the sausages are of course baked.

These are not awful, in fact the first couple of these sausages I found to be lovely and porky with a twist though I don't think anyone could stomach too many of these!
