Tesco Cheese Balls are of course a rip-off of Wotsits but shaped differently and of course made by Tesco. Normally I am quite wary of supermarket crisps as the reduction in price is sadly reflected by the reduction in quality of the product and I have tasted some dreadful Walkers copies by a certain supermarket. However these were opened in the kitchen so I grabbed a handful and was pleasantly surprised.

I have only seen these Cheese Balls in what I believe to be called sharing bag size and not individual size. The bag cost 88p so for 125grams it is pretty good value.

The packaging is unsurprisingly orange themed and actually, though I am sure that this was not done deliberately, the design of orange and gold squares in a chequered layout with a ball in the middle, really makes me think of one of those modern paintings.

These maize snacks are spherically shaped and taste of artificial cheese. This is not me knocking the product, it is how cheese crisps generally taste, but many either under-flavour, or worse, over-flavour them. These however seem to have got the balance right and they are very easy to eat. Unfortunately they are a bit salty and can make you quite thirsty after eating a few.

These would make a perfect snack for the cinema if you aren't too self-aware about the crunching sound when you eat them. One thing to watch out for though is the calorie count as eating a sixth of the bag contains 135 calories so they aren't low fat by any means.

Summary: Great value
