Advantages: Good first taste, cheaply priced, ok for snacks

Disadvantages: Bland taste, you would not want a bag to yourself

I was having the girls round one evening for a movie night and of course what movie night is complete without having some popcorn and nibbles. As the evening was a last minute thing I only had time to pop to my local Tesco Express store and grab some last minute supplies, after having a look around the store I picked up some Pringles, chocolate and some Tesco Cheese Balls.

I have seen the Tesco Cheese Ball snacks in the main Tesco store but have never brought them so now was my chance to try them out. The 150g bag will cost you 87 pence and in my opinion this is not a bad price as the bag is a lot bigger to your average sized bag of crisps.

The bag itself is quite vibrant in colour and it is easily spotted on the shelves of Tesco. It is bright orange and has the Tesco logo at the top and the name of the product just below it. There is also a picture of the product on the bag and as the bag is made from plastic you cannot see the actual product through the bag it is a good idea to have the picture on the front.

On the reverse of the bag is all the essential information on the product, there is the nutritional facts on the crisps as well as a list of the ingredients, there is nothing that unusual about the ingredients, items such as sunflower oil, maize, salt and yeast.

When it comes to the taste test, the crisps are quite bland. The first bite of the crisp has quite a lot of flavour on it but after that you are left with quite a bland taste in my opinion. There is a definite cheese taste but this is just the coating that is on the outside of the crisp and after this there is not a lot of taste left. There is a defiantly a cheesy smell to the crisps but unfortunately this is about as cheesy as the crisps get! They are very crunchy and have a good texture to them but this is about it as far as the good points go I am afraid!

A few pieces of nutritional information on the product are as follows: (per serving)

Calories ~ 135
Sugar ~ 1g
Fat ~ 9g
Saturates ~ 1g
Salt ~ 0.5g

In summary, I would buy this snack again but I think that there are other products on the market that are tastier. The crisps are one of those products that once you have eaten one you end up eating more and more but I think this is because the flavour is not that strong so you are trying to get more from the next crisp.

The price is quite good for the crisps and I think it would be a good idea, as I did to serve them when you have a number of people around rather than buying a bag and just snacking on them for yourself as they would become quite bland.

I give the crisps 2 out of 5

Thank you for reading.

Summary: Not one for me and I won't be buying again
