      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not for me!

Not only do I love the presents and everything about Christmas my favourite thing has to be the food. I love food at the best of times but I do like stuff that has especially arrived in time for stuffing ourselves with at Christmas!

These cakes slices are exclusive to Tescos and cost £1.00 for 6 of them. I really fancied them with a cuppa so bought a couple of boxes for me and my flatmate to gorge ourselves on over the festive period!

      The Packaging:

The slices come in a red plastic tray covered in clear plastic encased within a dark red, oblong box and on the front of that box there is a photograph of the slices shown and we are told that they are Tesco 'Christmas', 6 Iced Rich Fruit Slices 'Baked with sultanas, raisins and glace cherries, topped with white icing' and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. Other information on the back of the box includes ingredients and allergy advice being given,, there is a full nutritional chart shown (these are Vegetarians by the way) and contact details for Tesco are given. Nice informative packaging this has.

      The Slices:

On opening up the box I was initially impressed with the slices size. Of course you get 6 of them and they are oblong shaped and not huge but rather thick and dark and fruity looking to the most part of each slice with a thick layer of white icing on the top. Yes they look plain but tasty enough!

What you get is a moist fruit cake. You get a dark brown sponge with tiny chunks of raisins, sultanas and cherry pieces combined within it with a few other ingredients. They are very sweet indeed, the icing for me being so thick is really sickenly sweet however the fruit within the sponge is fresh and tastes nice enough.

Not too crumbly if you like sweet cakes these could be great for you.....for me though they are simply too sweet!
