Pancakes... how I do love pancakes! These 'Tesco' pancakes are fantastic, so full of flavour and the perfect snack. I tend to toast them for a little while, ensuring that they go warm, but don't toast too much and become tasty, or even worse, get burnt in the toaster! Once toasted they are delicious served with a small amount of butter to moisten them, or they can be eaten on their own, though they are slightly too dry. A small drop of maple syrup is always nice too!
'Tesco's Value Pancakes' can be bought for as little as 29p for a pack of six from 'Tesco's' and are well worth it! I mean really, 29p... what can you buy for 29p in this day and age that still tastes great?
The packaging isn't anything special but really when you are just after some good tasting pancakes this is not something on the top of your check list. As long as my pancakes are kept fresh, which is what these always are, I don't mind.
As far as nutritional information, there's just 255 calories per 100g, so it's about 100 calories or less per pancake, and they have low fat content at just 7% to top it off! Sugar is a little bit higher at 15.5%, but really, I couldn't care for how much sugar there is, they are too good not to eat!
If you haven't tried them, stop buying expensive brand pancakes and go for these cheap alternatives... they still taste just as good as well!
I get these on most shops if not them the value ones (which are just as good!!!) i like them they have a good taste not to sweet either so great toasted with a little butter or jam.My son really likes them too for a mid day snack and are easy for him to eat considering hes only 16 months old ,and the are a lot cheaper then buying baby bics to often.I belive at the moment (19/4/09) they are on special offer in tescos for two packs for £1.50 saving 66p and we all like a bargin
In the pack you get 12 pankcakes in all nice packet with all the information on fat, salt ect on the front and easy to read also the 'best before date' very important as you dont want these tasty treats going off.
i freeze mine all the time for later treats when i forget to buy them.
At £1.8p a packet i think they are a bit pricey but the taste makes up for it.
