Cheap And They Deffo Taste It

I've eaten shedloads of party food from Tesco this month because my mum has been buying it for snacks so that we can test everything out before Xmas day. Last night we picked at a bit of a buffet after realising the freezer desperately needs defrosting and wanted to empty it before tomorrow when we do the Xmas food shopping. These Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls were quite nice but I reckon the Asda version are a lot better because these have got a bit of a mushy texture inside them and you can't taste the vegetables as good as in other brands of these spring rolls. There are loads of different vegetables used for the filling and they're all listed on the ingredients list, the problem is that the only one you can really see inside is the carrot and the only one you can tell its flavour are the bean sprouts because they have got a nice crunch. The pastry is quite nice, it's got a bit of a greasy flavour that I wasn't too struck on but the edges and the top side of each spring roll are nice and crispy. I think the greasy flavour comes from the bottom of the spring rolls where its been sitting on the baking tray in the oven, but that's not very good because they don't take long to cook so much be full of fat to get so greasy in such a short time. Over all I don't like these that much. They taste mega cheap and are possibly the worst thing I've tried out of the Tesco party food, in fact they deffo are because the greasy taste lingers big time and covers up any flavour the vegetables have. There's quite a lot of vegetables in each one and I reckon that if they had tasted nicer this would have been great because the one thing I don't like about the Asda ones is that there seems to be a big gap between the pastry and filling and that makes them flat when you bite them. These MIni Spring Rolls are £1.00 for 12 and I reckon they are probably worth that but no more, I'm glad we ate these yesterday because it would have been madly disappointing to have them spoiling the buffet on Xmas day. We're going to Asda instead tomorrow so will stock up on a couple of boxes of their spring rolls because they're much nicer.
