Advantages: Great quality, tasty and value for money
Disadvantages: If you don't like grease and prefer dry crackers these won't be for you
I go through phases of having things food wise that I'm addicted to. At the moment I seem to be totally addicted to Prawn Crackers and this bag is the ones I have been nibbling on all day long!
The packaging of these is not the same as what is shown on the review photograph on the top of this page, maybe it has changed but it is now a bright pink and see through bag and on the front of it we are quite simply told that they are Tesco Prawn Crackers 'No artificial colours or hydrogenated fat' and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown then on the back of the bag other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice being given, there is a full nutritional chart shown, the weight is stated which is 60g and contact details for Tesco are given. Nice enough, easy to open bag this is though it isn't resealable.
The crackers are made from tapioca and are prawn flavoured with 17% prawn actually in them. They are crunchy or can melt in the mouth, some are large ovals some small but all reasonably thick and some are drier than others and on some you can see a tiny bit of sunflower oil residue so when I'm eating them my fingers do get a bit greasy.
However these are moist crackers, well seasoned and do taste lightly of salty prawn and I have to admit to really liking them though my hips don't cos per 20g serving I get 110 calories though only 0.6g of saturated fat which isn't bad....the problem with them though is that they are so moreish and I have eaten a whole bag now!
In short these are great quality crackers, not too greasy but some do hold some grease so they are not overly dry. They taste nice though alone or dipped and cost only 89p a bag so theres not a lot to dislike really!
Only available from Tesco stores.
