      King of the nuts!

I'm a bit of a nut fan, and whilst I'm not mad keen on the walnut's and brazil nuts of this world, I do have a soft spot for the old pistachio - in my opinion, the king of all the nuts . Tesco Roasted Salted Pistachio Nuts come in a variety of different size bags, with the 300g size costing £1.77 (59p per 100g). The predominantly green packet is easy to open and is made of a 'foil fresh' material to keep the nuts in good health. Obviously, as they are a Tesco product, you can't get this particular brand of pistachio's anywhere else, but ASDA sell their own 400g bag for £3.50 (which works out as 87.5p for 100g). Eating a 300g bag of the popular nuts (something I have done on numerous occasions), comes to a whopping 1,785 calories; that said, calories don't tell the whole story when determining if a product is healthy or not - research has shown that Pistachios can benefit the heart by relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. The taste of Tesco Roasted Salted Pistachio nuts is generally delicious - there have been a couple of occasions in the past when the product has been too heavily salted, yet nine out of ten times they are perfect. The nuts have a fresh flavour, and although you have to de-shell them (the only annoyance) I believe the shells go some way in maintaining the delicate taste. This is apparent when I have bought de-shelled Pistachios in the past, which really didn't taste as nice. Although I haven't tried a huge variety of Pistachio Nut brands, Tesco Pistachio's taste great, and come highly recommended by me.
