“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Snacks „
We had these sausage and bacon wraps with our new years day dinner, they had been reduced in Tesco to 69p but the normal price is £1.50 for 12 small wraps.
You cook them in the oven for about 30 mins but you have to turn them a few times to get them cooked evenly.
They are a small chipolata sausage wrapped in unsmoked streaky bacon and they taste yummy. The only problem with them I think is that the bacon doesn't cook as crispy as I would like it to, the fat on them stays quite stringy and that's a shame because the Asda ones we had over Xmas didn't have that problem BUT they wasn't as tasty over all as these.
The sausages are lovely and meaty and taste a lot stronger than you think they're going to with them being so small. They cook through even and the ends of the sausage go a bit crunchy where the bacon hasn't quite covered them.
The wraps taste quite fresh but weren't a patch on the ones my mum made herself using fresh sausage, smoked bacon and stuffing! They keep their shape well while they're cooking and I think it's mad how the supermarkets can get the bacon to stick to the sausage so good when we had at least one cocktail stick holding our homemade wraps together, and some of them had 2 in! lol
I thought these were proper nice, like I said before the fat on some of the wraps stayed stringier than I'd usually have liked but that wasn't too bad by the time we'd got the hot gravy over our dinner. The taste of these wraps would make them good for eating cold and that was a good job because as usual my mum cooked far too many and we were munching them off for hours after our dinner!
