A fantastic tear & share from Tesco.

We love to cook in our house, whether from scratch or something from the fridge. Food is a big part of our time together as sometimes we only see each other for an hour or two before one of us has to go off to work. We had an Italian night recently where we picked up a selection of products from the 'Italian' range in Tesco. One such item that we picked up was this Garlic bread tear & share. This is a great idea in theory, you just pop it in the oven for just over 10 minutes and then it is ready to be eaten.

This is soft bread that has a wonderful crust around it. Then the bread is smeared with garlic butter, a large amount, which obviously melts and coats the bread wonderfully. This bread is light and fluffy inside wonderfully soft and then the hard crust holds all the warm in to the bread. This can mean that even after a few minutes out of the oven that it is still incredibly hot and could potentially burn tongues! We tend to serve us up on the table in the cardboard tray that it comes in.

This bread does not feel anything like a standard garlic bread, it is completely different. I find that garlic bread is too crusty on the outside and the garlic butter just overwhelms. This is so different. The bread is just wonderful throughout and the texture is tasty. In addition to having butter and garlic there is parsley mixed within so you get the lovely garlic taste without it being overpowering or too strong.

Overall it is fair to say that we thoroughly enjoyed this garlic bread. This is just £1.00 from Tesco at the moment and it does not appear to be on special offer. This is a price that I think is fantastic and I would be happy to pay this again in the future. We loved this garlic bread and besides waiting a good five minutes for it to cool down it was incredibly simple to just unwrap the plastic, place in the oven, heat up and eat! It went very nice with our pasta meal that we cooked ourselves and was yummy!

A nice alternative to garlic baguettes

We like to have garlic bread with near enough every meal in our house, and whilst I was shopping in tesco last week, I noticed this tesco tear and share garlic bread. I have never noticed it before so it must be new, or not been out for very long. We always tend to buy the baguettes, so I thought this would be something new to try.

It cost £1.75 in tescos, and you get one big piece of bread, which is quite lumpy and I thought it would be a bit like naan bread. This tear and share bread was the nicest garlic bread we have had. It is so soft and it really does tear easily, much easier than naan breads tear. The bread is the softest bread I have had, and it was really light to eat. The bread has parsley and garlic mixed in it, and then is topped with garlic and parsley butter.

The garlic was not too strong, it was really nice, and it smelt lovely whilst cooking in the oven. All you do to cook this tear and share garlic bread is place it on a baking tray for 10-12 minutes on 200 degrees. If you are cooking it from frozen it takes 18-20 minutes on 180 degrees. We had ours straight from the fridge that night, and it cooked really well in just 10 minutes.

This garlic bread is very high in calories, with one quarter of the bread containing 195 calories. So it is very bad for you, and we could have ate one each! It is suitable for home freezing, and for vegetarians.

This garlic bread wasn't really enough for the two of us, we could have ate a lot more. I do think it is quite expensive for the amount you get, as next time we would probably want two of these, and at £1.75 each, to buy two for one meal would be a bit expensive.

But as a treat now and again I will definitely buy this tear and share bread again, it was really soft and tasty and a nice alternative to garlic baguettes.

        Yummy!!!

I love the range of Tear & Share bread that Tesco sell but for some reason I had never tried the Garlic Bread, actually I had never even noticed it until the other day so I don't know if it's new.

It's kind of hard to describe it because it's just a proper soft bread that has got a wicked garlic flavour, it looks like a lumpy pizza base and you cook it in the oven for about 12 mins. As soon as it's gone in the oven you can smell the garlic big time and I think the garlic smells lovely and fresh.

The bread is very easy to tear into, the bread IS mega soft but you have to be careful when you take it out of the oven because with it being such a light and airy bread steam can get stuck inside it, a bit like what happens sometimes with pitta bread.

The bread has got a lovely buttery taste and texture, it doesn't feel greasy like when you buy a garlic baguette and I love the way the garlic is strong but not harsh and it's got quite a mellow flavour that is lush in my opinion! You can still taste the bread through the garlic and that's good because in a lot of supermarket garlic bread all you can taste is the strong taste of garlic and that puts me off sometimes because when it's a good tasting bread like this you want to be able to taste it.

There is also parsley mixed in with the garlic and I think that might be why it's not as harsh as when you just have plain garlic.

This Tear And Share Garlic Bread is supposed to serve 4 but NO WAY, it just about did 2 of us the other night and I reckon if I had nobody to share it with I could easily eat it all on my own because it's soooo delish!

I deffo recommend this for a nice change from normal garlic bread. I love how soft the bread is and the gorgeous taste of the garlic butter, I should have had it with pizza but I just wanted a snack and it was perfect for that...... it was only after I started eating the bread that I thought about pizza and by then it was too late! lol

Recommended..... a wicked change from garlic baguettes!
