Advantages: Excellent value, taste great
Disadvantages: None
I had a hankering for bourbon creams recently and couldn't resist giving these a go when I saw the price difference between these and the regular Tesco branded ones - Everyday Value are 45p for 400g, regular Tesco are 49p for 200g, so the Everyday Value ones are better than half price.
Packaging:
I really like the new packaging for this product. Tesco have done away with the old blue stripes/boring picture combination and replaced it with a cream coloured background with soft brown writing and little drawings of teapots, mugs, chocolate etc. It's a little tough to open and sometimes I get a couple of broken biscuits on the top but that's about it (I deal with this issue by dunking and devouring these biscuits first, it's a happy solution).
Product:
Addictive! I've started dunking these in my coffee and almost wish I hadn't because they taste so good dunked that me and my husband always end up having 'just one more', which is then followed by several more after that. The biscuit is chocolaty and not too sweet and the filling is lovely - creamy, chocolaty and again not overly sweet.
Value:
I can't say I've compared these to any others as I didn't try any other brand before buying these ones. What I can say though is that I enjoy them enough that I don't want to try more expensive ones - for 45p these are keeping me happy. These are lovely for a comforting, chocolaty tea or coffee break (recommended for rainy Saturday afternoons with a hot drink) and nice to have in the biscuit tin for visitors.
Summary: Addictive!
