Tesco Value Bread

I am a very big fan of Tesco Value Products and purchase many of them weekly from Tesco Value Diet Cola to tesco Value Toilet Rolls. Tesco Value Bread however is not a a product I bould buy unless I had no other option.

My family and I consume lots of bread each day (probably a little too much) and with the rising cost of foods I recently decided to try Tesco Value Bread. At approx 30p per loaf there is no question that it is very cheap in comparison to regular brands.

Tesco value bread comes in three different varities, thin medium and thick and is well packaged with the familiar Tesco Value Logo.

The taste however leaves a lot to be desired.

I first tried the bread as a sandwhich filled with my favourite speading cheese and salad. This was not a pleasant experience. The bread tasted very dry and was quite squishy (for want of a better word) in consistency. The edges of the bread were a little hard, almost as if the bread was not fresh. I did not finish my sandwhich, and this is unusual as like my food.

I next tried the bread toasted with some butter. This tasted a lot better but was still not up to standard. The bread still appeared to be a bit hard around the edges and the taste was still the same, very dry and very unbread like.

I would not but this again in the future and am happy to pay an extra pound or so for a decent loaf.
