Advantages: Good For Dunking In Coffee
Disadvantages: Taste cheap; Weird chocolate
It's weird because I like the plain Tesco Value Digestives and you'd think these milk chocolate ones would be even better, but they're worse because the chocolate is so cheap tasting.
They're 30p for a 300g pack, the biscuits are smaller than the ones you get in McVities but they are thicker and there's deffo more in the pack.
The chocolate doesn't look much like proper chocolate, last night I had one of these and a McVities chocolate digestive and these ones deffo LOOK a lot cheaper.
The taste is just like that too. Because of the biscuit being thicker it means the texture is all different, these are crunchy but they don't feel crumbly or good quality like more expensive biscuits. I think these digestives are a bit too sweet as well and that stops them tasting like digestives a bit, the taste is just off and with these I think I'd rather not have a biscuit if these were all that was in the tin.
The chocolate isn't very nice, it's got the same sort of taste as cooking chocolate or something like that. It isn't creamy and has got a mega sticky feel when it starts melting on your fingers, I reckon an actual bar made out of this chocolate would be disgusting!
I have dunked these in coffee and they're a bit better like that, the chocolate melts nice in the hot coffee and the biscuit is good because it's thick so you can hold it in for a bit longer. You'll have to suss timings out though because if you leave it for for a second longer than you should then it will deffo break off and land in the bottom of your cup.
I don't like these, my mum buys them because when you're buying biscuits for 5 (plus visitors!!!) it gets expensive to keep filling the biscuit tin up with McVities. When I go to the shop I usually buy the more expensive ones because then it's a treat for everyone.
Not recommended..... they taste madly cheap, but try the plain Tesco Value Digestives because they're quite nice.
Summary: Not The Best Of Tesco Value!
