Advantages: Yummy with different toppings
Disadvantages: Very dry and rubbery on their own
I only brought these after reading so many BAD reviews about them, well they were good reviews but they all said how bad the pancakes were. They are only 29p for 6 so I thought I'd get some to see if they were as bad as all that.
I've ate all 6 of them now and they're ok, a bit dry and rubbery but like anything you can improve them if you're careful about what topping you add to them.
I've ate one dry straight out of the packet and that was like stale cake. It was very dry and hadn't got much flavour, it was so dry it made me cough! lol
The others I toasted and had with different toppings and they weren't that mad and not much different from the next brand of pancakes up that my mum usually gets. They only take a minute to toast and when you do it you don't want to toast them that long that they go crunchy because they are best when they are just warm but still soft.
The pancakes are very doughy but when they are warm they do get moister and are loads nicer to eat like that. If you eat one plain they are proper bland but there are loads of different toppings you can have on them and that makes a massive difference to the taste and texture of them.
I had just butter on one and that didn't taste that good because the butter made them go very greasy feeling because the outside of the pancake is a bit shiny and the butter didn't melt in very well.
They're yummy with chocolate spread on them because the spread goes warm but stays nice and gooey and tasty. I tried one with peanut butter though and that made the pancakes even dryer and they all stuck to the roof of my mouth!
I had one in the traditional way with sugar and lemon juice and that was yummy but the pancake soaks the lemon juice up so watch out that you don't add too much or you'll end up with a face like Renee Zellwegger!!! I reckon syrup would go wicked on these pancakes as well but we hadn't got any at the time so I couldn't try that.
For 29p it's worth giving these a go because I don't think they're as bad as other people have said so it's obviously a matter of taste.
Summary: These Pancakes Are Worth A Try At 29p
