These used to be really nice. Ingredients were (in order of quantity) Flour, butter, sugar, vegetable oil. You really got that butter kick from these. Mum bought some of these recently because I like them. I tried them and something about them wasn't right. The buttery flavour is almost non-existent. Checking the ingredients I saw why. Flour, vegetable oil, sugar, butter. They've cut down on the butter for cheaper vegetable oil. This might work in other biscuits but not shortbread. These now taste like plain pastry. Avoid.

I felt a little guilty picking these up in Tesco the other day because i know just how easy it is to make shortbread from scratch. I fairly often whip up a batch much to the delight of my flatmates. However, sometimes you just want something in ready-made for when unexpected sweet cravings strike, fairly regularly if you are anything ... Read the complete review

Knowing my parents were coming to stay this week one thing I grabbed was a few packets of these shortcake fingers cos he loves them and these at 27p a pack seemed a decent buy to me! ==Background:== When I was a little boy shortbread was a real treat, in fact we only had it at Christmas. These days it certainly feels more affordable and when I was in my local Tesco's I couldn't resist buying a couple of packs of their own Shortbread Fingers. ==Price:== I paid just 13p for a 125g ... The Product I picked these up at a recent visit to Tescos as I have been trying to save money - I have become a little obsessed with trying out products from the supermarket 'value' ranges. Like many other shortbread fingers, they come in a pack of ten fingers, neatly packaged in the familiar tesco value wrapper. They are just the ... Read the complete review

These are the unsung heroes of the tesco value world. Seriously, books should be written, fables told... Money: So when I started uni these started out at 8p. I think people suddenly realised these amazing little biccies because the price suddenly shot up to something like 25p in a week. But the price has now settled back to a ... Read the complete review

Well they are not the most glamorously packed item in the world and they really don't scream out "buy me as I am so delicious", but Tesco Value Shortbread Fingers are one of the best bargains in the biscuit or should I say shortbread world. They cost a miraculous 13p, yes that right, just 13p! For a pack of 10 short ... Read the complete review

Tesco's Value Range really does come up tops sometimes. These shortbread fingers are 13p for a 125 gram packet containing 10 biscuits. (Mind you, I remember not too long ago these used to cost 9p! Oh, how things have changed...) It works out that you are paying 1.3p per biscuit so there really isn't much room for complaining. ... Read the complete review

I love shortbread, whether in rounds or in fingers. They're extremely tasty, and I can kid myself that they're rather more healthy than a chocolate bar (probably true) and other types of biscuits (probably less true). They also feel a little bit special and luxurious, so I tend to expect them to be quite expensive, especially when they ... Read the complete review

So I was wandering through Tesco Express desperately trying to find a tasty snack who's price would not exceed the shrapnel I had in my pocket. I stumbled across a 13p label in the confectionary section and thought 'surely not?'. I thought this was an amazing price for a substantial snack product, particularly as I had not imagined such ... Whilst doing my weekly shop I decided to buy a packet of Tesco Value Shortbread Fingers. I was reaching down to buy my usual packet of Value Bourbons when I noticed these discreetly sitting next to them. Now I love shortbread but I always feel cheated whenever I buy it because I think you don't get a lot of biscuit for your money. ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Shortbread I think, compares pretty darn well to some of the more expensive shortbread fingers that are available out there. It's not at the top of the tree, but it's certainly not at the bottom either. Most of the supermarkets do a value version and a regular version, and some also do a more expensive special ... For people who read my reviews regular will know I snack a lot and love most foods and I am now on a budget since some of my work has had to suffer during the recession as it has for a lot of people and so I am slowly trailing my way through a lot of the lower brands of all supermarkets to see how I like them and so far I am doing very ... I had some friends around for a nice lunch on Friday. I thought that I had better get some biscuits in to have with a post lunch cup of coffee. We have just done our weekly shop in Tesco, and while we were down my favourite aisle, the biscuit aisle, I came to the shortbread section. I love shortbread and usually spend around £1 for ten fingers. Tucked away at the bottom of she shelf, with almost no frontage, were these value shortbread fingers. They cost only 13pence for ten ... I bought this for 9p, and there's about 12 in a packet. That's less than a penny for each shortbread! The appeal is limited due to the fact it's tesco value, most people avoid stuff like that, especially when really cheap. Though this one surprised me by being tasty and sweet. Be warned though, they are quite fattening, full ... Read the complete review

I do like my sweet things, and although I think that Chocolate is my downfall, as well as Cakes perhaps, I am a sucker for Shortbread. Normally I stick to the brand names, as I find them sweeter and generally nicer, but when I saw this in Tesco for the bargain price of 9p I just had to try it. The Tesco value shortbread biscuit is an item I have tried recently and this is my review.
